Broker 101 Exam

The Broker 101 exam is a step towards CPYB designation and provides a basis to evaluate your acceptance to the BCYBA. It covers the basics of brokering in BC including sales knowledge and transactional issues, the BCYBA Constitution and Code of Ethics and general boating regulations (including transfer/registration of ownership).

Once you have submitted your membership application with the BCYBA, you will receive the study material for this exam. It must be successfully completed within 3 months of the publication of your application in the BCYBA meeting minutes.

The Broker 101 Exam is administered at the BCYBA offices for a $25 fee and is made up of multiple choice questions which you will have one hour to complete. All membership applicants must achieve at least 70% on the exam in order to be eligible to become a BCYBA member.

Please note that there are course pre-requisites which include possessing a VHF licence and Pleasure Craft Competency Card.
